Traditional research was divided into a series of academic silos and methodologies. WCHRI creates a ‘critical mass’ by bringing together basic and clinician scientists from various health disciplines, social scientists, community health researchers, industry partners, stakeholders and policy makers to collaborate on solutions. WCHRI will create truly innovative translational research programs by fostering exchanges among researchers through workshops, e-forums, training, and support for emerging multidisciplinary teams.
When the vision is fully realized, the WCHRI will assess how a variety of factors influence the mental, social and physical health of women, children and prenatal babies.
